Cutesy approach overwhelms content. I'm not at all averse to in-your-face graphic-novel style layouts and casual or playful tones, but this one feels forced, but maybe my reaction arises from the fact that this book's approach is very basic. Better, perhaps, for someone who is only just beginning to think of herself as creative? I was not inspired to get through it.
