Love’s Greatest Gift: A Christmas Novella By Amy Gamet in Reviews of Early Reviewers Books (November 2012)
Reviews
BOOK ONE: SHELTERED BY THE SEAL:
This introduction to a new group of military type men who will find their true loves was a short, action-packed, intense, dramatic read. Oliva and Trevor had some major situations to deal with alone and together that managed to ultimately work out positively for both of them.
BOOK TWO: SHELTERED BY THE SEAL
When you have lost the love of your life and his child, still in your womb, you must go through the five stages of grief before moving on and that is just show more what Jessa is in the midst of doing. With her anger focused Jax “Ace” Andersson – she has determined he is the one to pay and give her pound of flesh. Poor unsuspecting Jax! One night is all it took for their lives to become entwined though it took a lot longer for them to work their way through the minefield left in the wake of Jax’s divorce, the widowing of Jessa and the hit put out on the inheritor of a seemingly valueless book.
I enjoyed this story and having read book one in the HERO Force book liked meeting up with characters in the series. I have to say that I was angry with Jessa during the first half or so of the book but that gradually changed over time. The interactions were intense, the dialogue at times cutting, the emotions intense and the story worth reading. I am not sure that the recuperative powers of both Jax and Jessa would have been as rapid as portrayed in the last bit of the book – not after sustaining the injuries they did – but it is fiction and the two did need a bit of cuddling so – why not fudge a bit.
NOTE: The 5 stages of grief and loss are: 1. Denial and isolation; 2. Anger; 3. Bargaining; 4. Depression; 5. Acceptance. People who are grieving do not necessarily go through the stages in the same order or experience all of them.
BOOK THREE: HARBORED BY THE SEAL
Charlotte O’Malley needs to purify her mind, body and soul after the damage to her confidence left behind by the time she spent married to her not so great husband. Her remedy is to have a wicked week on a cruise ship with Leo “Cowboy” Wilson. Both of them know that this might not be a great idea but with the attraction they have felt and continue to feel it just might happen. There is one slight problem, though, since Cowboy is on assignment guarding a royal couple on a cruise ship. Mixing work with pleasure might not be wise. As the story progresses it emerges that there is a group on the boat with nefarious intentions and only a handful of people on board to keep them in check till H.E.R.O. Force can get there to save the day.
This was a quick fun romantic read with a hunky alpha male and a smart sassy woman who knew just what she wanted. Their story gave me a break this afternoon and made the gray day a whole lot brighter. The plot was not new but the characters were made for each other and their story entertaining. I am looking forward to finding out what Matteo “Red” will be doing on his intriguing assignment in the next book.

Amy Gamet does not do TAME. Her repertoire consists more of complicated, exciting, emotionally charged explosives. Jessa's life went from complex to downright dangerous in the blink of an eye. Now she has to find a way out of the mess before it costs her the ultimate price. A woman of mystery, a man with a plan, a volatile scenario and a powder keg of secrets lead Jessa and Jax out of the frying pan and into the fire. What a way to shake up a series. Sheltered By The Seal is a thrilling show more asset to The Inheritance Series . show less
Forever with the SEAL by Amy Gamet
HERO Force Book 8
Novella length this may be but action packed and ending with a bang in more ways than one ;) It was interesting seeing Trevor and Oliva together after being apart and watching Trevor spring into action to save the woman he loves. The fact that he pulls in a retired rather broken SEAL to assist when Oliva goes missing then comes up with an idea to extend the HERO Force in a way that will allow him more time with Olivia while providing a show more focus and job for other SEALs that are in desperate need of doing good again is frosting on the cake. I am EAGER to start reading The Shattered SEALs Series as soon as it is available and wonder if Mac will find his wife and children before the series ends!
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Holding His Hostage by Amy Gamet
Shattered SEALs #3
Joanne Regan is at her husband’s funeral with her three children when a client of her husband’s informs her that she has less than a week to return what her husband stole from him. The fact that she has had not much to do with her husband for over a year has no sway with the rather crazed man who did more than just approach her. With fear in her heart she runs to the last safe place she remembers…her hometown. Instead of the woman she show more had hoped would be there to assist her it is Sloan Dvorak, the man she once loved.
What I liked:
* Joanne: Strong, loves her children, had a horrible childhood, made the best decisions she could.
* Sloan: Scarred warrior, loving son, stalwart team member, made the best decisions he could.
* Joanne’s children: three children dealing with the separation of their parents, the death of their father, and a life in flux.
* Sloan’s team: intriguing men, all harmed by war, doing their utmost to still serve and protect to the best of their abilities.
* The story: quick paced, action packed, second chance romance with wonderful characters
* The bad guys were uncovered and dealt with
* There was a HEA
* Wondering who will star in book four of the series.
What I did not like:
* That some decisions, made with the best intentions, don’t work out for the best
* Having to wait for book four with no idea of which HERO Force character will find his HEA.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I like to read more in the series? Yes
