Chuck Russell

Surprisingly charming in the first third or so, but as the amount of humour is reduced to fit more plot, its relatively by-the-numbers story and rather forgettable characters get more obvious. And while I love Dwayne Johnson, this is early in his acting career and he's really not at his best here. Still, it's got its surprisingly clever moments here and there, and with the right, low expectations to an over the top actionfest sword and sorcery style, it entertains me well enough.

A fairly enjoyable flick from the 90s. Some parts of it have not aged well but the story is fun and the special effects were pretty good for a mid-90s flick about a man who finds an enchanted mask that grants superpowers.

Predictable action with a tired Arnold. Williams is good, though.
