One can not help but think of great Christian writing when one hears this name. In fact his children's books are some of my favorites because they also are perfectly suited for adults to enjoy over and over again. However, this book is especially touching and sweet. It is one that will strike a deep chord with anyone who chooses to pick it up.

Through very personal and candid stories of his family and children he explores what God's love for his children is and what it is truly like to have show more child-like faith. This mirrors so many of my personal thoughts as a mother of 5 that I was amazed! Each day God truly does reveal himself in a more intimate personal way through my children. Not only in their wonder and faith but also in their disobedience and failures - for it is then I understand the grief that I must cause my father when I depend on my own knowledge instead of his loving guidelines set in place to protect and care for me.

Truly this book will be one that will touch and change many lives. The candid writing and personal style will immediately capture any audience and change the way people think of Christ. R.C. Sproul has most certainly done what he does best - explore and expound on scripture in a way that any one who reads the book can relate and understand.

Thanks to Tyndale for this very generous review copy.

Excellent introduction to navigating personal and business finances in the world of debt equity, inflation, monetary policies, charity, etc ... for today's Christian
I thoroughly enjoyed this treatise, which covers the basics of classic, orthodox, calvinistic theology. I took issue with some things--for instance the difference that Keith A. Mathison draws between "sola scriptura" and "solo scriptura". I was also not too keen on the following characterization of the four point Calvinist position as "not only...missing a point, but...missing the point", and putting us in the "...oxymoron hall of fame, along with jumbo shrimp and government aid."

Other than show more that, it is a great book. Especially inspiring was John MacArthur's chapter on Sola Christus. I would definitely recommend this as a good read for anybody interested in stretching themselves theologically.

What a wonderful book. I eagerly awaited this book when I heard it first announced and quickly bought a copy when available. It is everything I hoped for. He picks 12 wonderful promises and clearly and consistently explains them and reminds us why they are so wonderful and amazing and why they should change the way we live, every day!

I was convicted, encouraged, and redirected by this book. He constantly points back to Scripture and to a relationship with Christ that is a very precious and show more amazing gift. If you or anyone else you know struggles to believe the promises of God, to believe that they are meant for you, this is a great place to start. Highly recommended. show less
