I wasn't going to list the board books as things I actually read this year, but I think once you've read it thirty-five thousand times you're entitled to count it in your totals.

Worth noting: the board book version skips "the baby goes LA," and also condenses the rhythm to a 1-4 (instead of 1-2-4), so it's just "the baby goes BEEP; the baby goes BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP." Still, my toddler loves this book, and has taken to flipping to the back page ("the baby goes shhhh") and pointing to it when show more he's ready for bed. There are worse things. show less
H likes the sounds but I think even he is craving more. I was glad to read another review and know that there is a hardcover version that is longer and more complete. I am not a fan of board books that hack apart the original and as a result leave the reader lacking and wanting more. Baby will enjoy the sounds you make when you read the book but not worth owning the board book version. I'll be happy to return this one to the library.
This book is GREAT story to read to babies up to 18 months old. It is interactive, fun, and helps babies learn simple signs with words such as "shh", "beep", "yum", and "splash". I read this book to one of the children I work with and she absolutely loves it. It is fun for her to squeeze my nose when I say "beep" among all of the other signs incorporated into the story. She always wants me to read it "again" and "again".

This book is for very young children therefore, I don't think it should show more be included in a classroom. It could be put into a daycare for babysitters and care providers to read to the young ones. Preschool aged children could read this story to their siblings or young friends. It is easy to recognize basic words (words that are easy to sound out). This book is a predictable book because it repeats the line "the baby goes...." throughout each page of the story. A picture is also available to show what the baby is doing. show less
picture book (baby, toddler)
the baby (pictured on the front cover) makes a lot of rhythmic noise with a nice pattern that the audience can follow along (and repeat over the course of the book).
a great, short and sweet book with colorful pictures that works with large crowds (even when not everyone can see the pages).
