Painting big brother in a unfavorable light may be the focus of the book, but I think that misses the point - I see the book as a warning not to permit any entity to own or control you.

The book was fascinating, the controlling aspect was repulsive, the warning was loud and clear, the choice presented to the reader is one that each reader must make for themselves.

I hope that Ortega publishes a sequel.
Full of cliches and anachronism -- "bomb" and "chill" will apparently still be slang fifty years in the future! An unnecessary appendix informs the ignorant reader that "siempre" is Spanish for always. However, it is difficult to write originally in the science fiction genre and Mr. Ortega should be congratulated for trying.
The Story
Interesting plot, a pretty unique spin on the zombie apocalypse plague situation, with an eclectic cast of characters and some amusing scenes in the midst of all the horror. I'm definitely hooked and want to know where it goes from here.

The Art
Amazing artwork, incredibly realistic. The backgrounds, outdoors, full shots of houses, the characters themselves, all phenomenally done, gorgeous to look at. The people are wonderfully vibrant and real.

Overall
Really enjoyable, I want the next show more part! show less
In trying to get famous, a band casts a spell which unleashes a zombie curse effecting animals. The reanimated animals are really angry and out for revenge.

Highly detailed illustrations add depth to scenes, characters, and plot.

Characters are quirky, from a range of backgrounds, and fun.

The narrative, while somewhat simplistic or formulaic, is well constructed and develops as the characters and action build.

Overall, a fun read.
