Sedona Venez

This was the first I have read of Sedona Venez. It was well written for the length. The story was solid. It was really hard to see someone so weak minded with Elijah, though. I am glad Hope came to her senses. She was strong, but the reason I say she is weak minded is because she repeatedly pushes him away over her fears, and even after she lets him in, it takes a while before she actually challenges him. Once she came into her own, it was great. I did like seeing her evolution, like an show more onion peeling layers. This book definitely deserves those 5 stars, because being able to show that much transformation in a character in 159 pages, that takes rare and real talent. I look forward to seeing what else Ms. Venez comes up with. show less

First, let's talk cover. What a gorgeous cover! Moody and dark, it beautifully shows the elements of this book. I'm a huge cover snob and will solely acquire books on their cover alone - and I absolutely jumped at this one!

Since I don't usually read fantasy, the vampire, werewolves & valkyrie (oh my!) took me a few chapters to get my brain around. But don't be concerned if fantasy isn't your genre either - it show more doesn't get really detailed or confusing, it just takes a chapter or so to get used to it.

I loved the name Infinity - the main character - although I didn't like her! She's very upfront (and admits freely and often) - she's selfish, self-centered drug addict, crude and rude, swears more than a sailor and is absolutely obsessed with sex.

She is so sex hungry, she even confesses to being a slut - even though she's never had sex. That's right, she's a virgin.

Luckily, the viewpoints bop around a little so you aren't with her the whole time - which also reveals some secrets to you through the others.

If you're good with racy sex scenes, lots of swearing and sex talk - with an undercurrent of fantasy, definitely give this one a try! You won't be disappointed. show less

Solid 3.5 star
This was a good read I just feel like it was missing something, Lukas and Kendra were good characters but I just didn't fully connect with them and I know it wasn't a long book but yeah didn't quiet hit the mark for me. In saying that, it was a good quick read with some suspense, romance and darn good laughs especially where Kendra's grandma is concerned as she is an absolute hoot!
