Fun, cocky and bold. A spicy love story in the fashion's world with outspoken and decant language. It rocks!

With a rather mind-blowing direct sex approach, this romance is also very classy, stylish thanks to the very elitist and gorgeous environment in which the story takes place. The reader travel from Italy to New York, from palaces, balls to private clubs, where one meets famous designers. But behing the glitter, its also remains a lightweight, smart and accessible reading.

Then, show more there are the graphics sex scenes...well written and rather colorful! Particularly, the daring threesome... It was erotic but not shabby. The characters are open enough to avoid judgments and fully enjoy their sexuality.
Strangely, when the author depicts the love story between Massimo and Lex, the scenes are less daring and more erotic and emotional. Certainly, the language is raw, blunt but never vulgar.

I also liked Massimo's Italian accent. It gives extra sensual dimension to the gorgeous latin lover. Because it is well known that women fall for sexy accents!
As for Lex, without being prudish, she has principles and a volcanic temper which I really enjoyed. I loved it, when she swears while using famous designers's names!

The characters encountered are excessive, exuberant but humans. In the Fashion's and luxury's world, I was expecting more ugly shots from bitches, some clichés and a lot of fake boobs! Sure there is some, but the author keep your mind on the good stuff!
I also loved Jemma and Taddy. Secondary characters that I would have liked to find out more details about.

Personally, I had a great time with this novel. I amused myself by reading the battle of will and hot replicas between the two heroes and their friends. While the language is full of crap and cuss words, not really diplomatic, it suddenly gives a sens of "real world" interactions.
And then the author warns you from the synopsis: This is an adult content read, so enjoy!

A surprising discovery ...

I was fortunate enough to get a review copy of Unscrupulous (The Manhattanites #2) and I LOVED the series and was so looking forward to Lex's story (Undressed). I actually lucked out a second time and received a review copy of Undressed as well :). Undressed actually comes second in the timeline, Unscrupulous being its prequel, but they are both standalones so you can read them in whatever order you want to. I got a glimpse of Lex in Unscrupulous as a quiet, hardworking, almost naive show more character... boy was I wrong! Well, not about the hardworking part, Easton Essentials is Lex's livelihood and she busts her ass to make it the best. However, Little Miss Easton is neither quiet nor naive. She has got quite the filthy mouth on her, and it was hilarious.

In a rush to ready her outfits for New York fashion week Lex has to hunt down her supplier at his humble abode, more like sex pad, and threaten him with legal action. Her supplier, Massimo Tittoni, is a player on the outside and such a lover on the inside. As much shit and dirty talk that Lex spouts at him he returns... in duplicate. These characters make no apology for their kink or their hilarity. These two steam up the bedroom, while their menage a trois-ing friends steam up every other surface. Their inner dialogues are equal parts dirty, heartfelt and comical. While Undressed is riddled with quips left and right, Massimo and Lex do have a deeper story development. With professional and personal obstacles to overcome they come head to head a few times and boy do I love their way of making up! In a world that has fast and hard rules they find equal footing with one another and succeed together.

I started highlighting sentences about two pages in and it is quite possible that 50% of my ebook is now highlighted. Undressed delivers non-stop comedic relief and raunchiness. It holds the perfect mix of sex and story. Ms. Aster produces a very eclectic and original story that I devoured! This cast of characters will make you laugh out loud and blush to your roots. Check out Undressed and make sure to pick up Unscrupulous while you're at it :)

I am familiar with the Manhattanites series since I read the first book, Unscrupulous, but I cannot say that I am a fan. I decided to read Unconventional because I love reading about polygamous relationships. I haven't read books #2 and #3 which means that I have lost some of the story. I lost the part where they fell in love. I don't believe this is a truly stand alone book. The author has connected her stories and it's hard to separate them even with the brief introductions in the show more beginning of the novel. A couple of pages explain who is who. It was nice considering that the reader won't have to go through the previous books to remember everything.

The story was short and rushed. It was only 140 pages out of the 250. The rest is mostly a huge excerpt from Avery Aster's upcoming book Unique. I wasn't okay with that to be honest. If it was a bonus novella, then I would have gladly gone on and read it, but once I learned that it was an excerpt I skipped it. I don't feel like that's fair for someone who is going to pay to read this book. I felt cheated and I got this book for free.

This story had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it didn't work out. The hot stuff where limited and so was the drama. And not to mention that the blurb spoils the whole book. I was waiting for a baby that came in the final lines of the book. Also, I am wondering how Jemma got pregnant since she had done chemo and refused to have her eggs frozen. Doesn't chemo eliminate the chances of a baby?

I wanted to see the trio trying to figure out their relationship which didn't happen. Maybe Rocco and Luigi could have given Jemma an ultimatum or something. I just wanted to read something. Things were too passive. Some things should have been mentioned and given more attention which sadly didn't happen.

I am not going to recommend this book. I felt like things were missing.

This book kind of blindsided me. The author's voice is fresh, witty, completely hysterical and something not easily found in today's book market. This is, for the most part, a lighthearted romantica novel that sucked me in and I could not wait to see what happened next! Now, I did not know until about halfway through that this was book #2 in a series, but it turns out I was lucky because Unscrupulous is actually the prequel in the Manhattanites series, although it does not make too much of a show more difference as all of the books are standalone. This book has an insane cast of characters that you love, want to slap upside the head, and can't wait to get your hands on their story. I'll be honest, at first Taddy Brill almost put me off of this book, because at times her life seemed almost too ridiculous to believe. However, I think in the end that is what I loved about this book, the ridiculousness of some of the story line helped me escape and completely immerse myself in Unscrupulous and love it even more. I wanted Lex, Kiki, Vive and Blake as my friends and to get more of a glimpse at their posh, and wondrous world. Then there is Warner, oh boy did he ever make it to the top of my book boyfriend list of 2013. He is sweet, caring, loving and the perfect hero! This was one of the books where the hero and heroine together brought out the best in each other and the reader lets out a wistful sigh when they get their happily ever after, or at least I did :). I will definitely be picking up Lex's book and I think if you enjoy a great romantica novel you should pick up Unscrupulous for sure! Unscrupulous will be be out on August 14, 2013.
