This story was written to help young children deal with their fears. It's a good message, but unfortunately it's too abstract for the very young, and too childish for independent readers.

From the back cover: "Wendy and the other sheep believed in the Shepherd. They knew that one day he would come for them. But Buster thought they were wrong. He made fun of the other sheep. Then, one day, Buster got into trouble..."
This picture book has been written for young readers to teach them about Jesus the Good Shepherd. While it teaches a good lesson in a unique way, it was too abstract for my children to understand the message.
