Chicken Little is about a little chicken who thinks the sky is falling. On his way to tell the king, he tells 4 other animals so they join him. When they get there, the king informs him that it was just an acorn that had fallen on his tail. This story is cute and I understand it is a very old folktale. To me, it resembles The Boy Who Cried Wolf. The chicken went sharing information without having all of the details. I think this book is a good one to share with kids when explaining rumors to show more them and how it is not good to share them. Kids should know to have all of the facts before they tell others because they could have people worried for no reason. This rule goes in the classroom very well as kids love to tell the teacher on each other. A story that teaches a lesson is always good for children. I think it really puts the lesson on their level for them to get and understand through animated pictures and funny stories. show less

This particular version of Chicken Little is definitely geared towards younger readers. It doesn't have very much plot. The tone is much brighter and light hearted compared to other common known versions of the story. The author used very short sentences with plenty of repetitive and rhyming words. The entire story is character driven, having Chicken Little think the sky is falling and convincing everyone else of the same, only to find out he got hit by an acorn on the tail. Now and then everyone gets a mild case of the holiday blues, but when Santa Claus looses his Ho! Ho! Ho!, the whole world is concerned. With Christmas just a few days away, people everywhere, including the elves and Mrs. Claus, try to help Santa, but to no avail. Nothing makes Santa laugh. Then while helping Santa catch up with his mail, Mrs. Claus has an idea, but is it too late before Christmas?

Sometimes, traditions shouldn't be changed. ESPECIALLY when it comes to Santa's classic red suit. All of his suits are messed up, but what will everyone think about the new suit Santa buys? Maybe somethings shouldn't change. ;)
