Pepper Page: Saves the Universe is a bit like a love letter to comic book fans. Here, Pepper reacts how a normal person would when suddenly thrust inside a crazy situation inside a beloved comic book with powers and all to be exact.

The art style is the real merit here! I though the artwork was very stylized, impactful, and colorful. On the other hand, the story, the characters, and the big bad felt weak to me. every villain doesn’t have to have a backstory. Killian believes helping others show more is just a waste of time. Reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho where one the villains grew up with loving parents and a great childhood but decided to become evil just because. Some fools just evil.

I would be interested in a book two, but I thought this was overall very lackluster. The Supernova stuff confused me a bit. If anyone understood it, feel free to comment on this review. Supernova question: 1. so, she was always Supernova for real and somehow she got separated from the comic series, which is why she's an orphan and had such an infinity for the comics? 2. when she got transported through Killian machine, the Magic Babies rewrote her existence to truly be Supernova. 3. some other explanation.

what confuses me is how does the comic series exist before Pepper? is this the egg or the chicken situation? or, is it too late, and I'm not making sense?

Fun read with my kids and a nice shift away from the many oversexualized versions in the past few decades
Amusing story. Completely absurd but amusing nonetheless. And frankly I missed the bit at the end, nice twist.

And spy pig. Now I've got that stupid theme from The Simpson's Movie. Spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does. Anna is crazy. I loved her plan to train the pig to be a shadow so it can become spy pig. I loved that Elsa goes along with it. Batshit crazy.

I liked the plot of this. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I liked that there was a bit of a mystery, show more a bit of deception and they were busy packing all the fun they could possibly have into the day. Target audience 5 stars. Myself, 4. show less
Teen Titans meets Pulp Fiction. Something has happened to Earth's heroes and all that's left to defend us -- we hope -- are the left-behind sidekicks. We're completely thrown into this graphically violent world (issue 2 pretty much starts with a guy's head being blown apart), and there aren't many signposts as to which of these characters we should trust. This trade paperback collects issues 1 through 4 out of an expected eight (this is an independent comic team, and there have been multiple show more delays). It's an interesting post-modern take on superheroes -- the art and color are stunning, and I love the Silver Age-like splash pages that help give some context -- but since there's no real resolution yet, this may not be one to start if you don't like unfinished stories.
