This fun book gives kids a multitude of experiments to try at home. It first explains what a science trick is and how to do it, and then each few pages lays out the framework of how to do a different trick. It's written in bubble like format and talks about what you need, how to prepare, and what the results might look like. This book is great for any reasons but one is the physical outline of the book. The text and speech bubbles, the lists, and the pictures are helpful for kids and teach show more them how to use those kinds of text features. show less
Genre: fantasy
Age app: primary
This is a good example of fantasy because although the alligators could come into people's yards it is impossible for them to lay eggs and the eggs to hatch the morning after. However, it is a humorously enjoyable story.
Character: Mrs. O'Malley is a flat character as she does not change or develop throughout the story. However, she is the protagonist, and tries her best to get the alligators out of her yard.

This is an example of a fantasy because the bear, the birds, the mice, and the bees were able to talk.
The plot is pretty dull. There is no climax or resolution. This would work for a wuick story with preschool students but would not be effective for a lesson or an example of quality children's literature.

This is a fictional book with animal characters in dialogue. The bear talks to the birds, squirles, mice and bees. He is uses sounds over and over again to scare them so that he can get his rest.
This big book uses the illustrations as much as the words. The illustrations show a lot of detail such as the bears cave and indicate the fall season which hint to the bear wanting to go into hibernation. The scene stays the same throughout the story which keeps consistency.
