I saw this book in an advertisement, and bought it on an obscure impulse to read something different. I enjoyed the text, and the history, predominately of Supreme Court decisions, about how constitutional law has been interpreted over the years, starting with Gore v. Bush. The constitution itself was appended, and I read it for the first time, marveling at the datedness of the text. The author is a law professor, and easily conversant with all the texts, and he writes with clarity. I show more learned that there is little prediction of how the court will rule unless the judges are known, and about FDR’s court packing plan in the 1930’s after judges had restricted the federal powers to regulate commerce for more than 50 years. show less
