Wow, I was blown away by this author and her novel! I thought that Ashlyn pined away for Dante for THREE years was over the top and that she should have dated more, but the heart wants what the heart wants and that she should have stopped all of the pretense and gone after her man. My mouth watered every time Ashlyn baked something and I laughed at her for baking men's body parts! At first I did not care for Dante at all, but he grew on me WHEN he decided that Ashlyn was worth any amount of show more press and he was jealous of any man who dated her. Now, I need to read the rest of this series! show less
I have read Ember Casey's previous novels before and it was just amazing! So when I heard about The Sweet Taste of Sin, I couldn't sign up fast enough. I'm telling you now: if you haven't read any of Ember Casey's books, you should! You're missing out. A lot.
"I never got over you. I tried. I told myself you were better off without me. That I should give you the chance to find someone who could give you everything you deserved. But I couldn't forget you." (ARC 2148)
I have a thing for show more enthralling blurbs; it immediately pulls me in. Three years trying to get over Dante Fontaine-- I say that there is a i-hate-you-but-i-love-you kind of relationship. I fantasized what would happen before this book was sent to me and I know it will be sinfully good. Look who's got a new book boyfriend!
"Tell me you love him, Ashlyn. That he's the one you want in your bed at night. The one you want fucking you. The one whose name you want to cry out when you're coming. The one whose arms you want around you every morning. Tell me you want him and no one else."
Looking into his eyes-seeing the hunger, the desperation, the vulnerability-I'm finding it impossible to say anything at all.
"Tell me," he says, leaning even closer, "or I swear, I'm going to make you forget him." (ARC 1529)
Ember Casey left my heart completely, utterly and unregretfully a roller coaster of emotions. She makes these electrifying scenes leaving me defenseless; somehow gets out of the book to sear your body throughout that had me jumping, squealing and making dying pterodactyl noises at the same time plus my sister giving me weird looks. I was high from no-elsa-cant-stop-these-feels. And I fucking loved it.
"I don't care if the whole world hears it," he says. "I don't even care if you turn me down in front of all these people. In front of the whole world. I love you, Ashlyn." (ARC 3128)
The Sweet Taste of Sin is a perfect blend of humor, romance, passion and angst that had me literally out of my seat. No doubt my favourite book of Ember Casey so far! If you enjoy these kinds of books, give this a try and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. show less

I liked the characters, there were some very funny scenes, and there were several exceptionally sexy scenes (and just when I was getting very bored with the endless "routine" sex descriptions in most of the mainstream romance novels I've recently read).
This was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, since it's the third book in a series and I haven't read the two preceding books.
It worked well as a standalone and I'm considering going back to purchase the first two. The story was interesting while still being realistic. The main character is completely unpredictable, so it made for a fun ride.
The narrator was a little 'rough' sounding...I might think twice about getting the other books in the series if it's the same show more narrator. Otherwise, a fun, sexy new adult read.
I was provided with a free copy of this audio book by the author, publisher or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. show less
