Entangled is the second book in The Accidental Billionaires series by J.S. Scott. It's a stand-alone story as each book is focused on a different sibling from the Sinclair family and there is not a continuous plot.
Aiden and Skye were a couple a decade ago, which makes the book a second chance romance. What I loved is that Aiden was not a manwhore, even though the author could have used the "he was hurt card". Since reading Carry my heart, I was a little worried about that, but show more there was no mention of Aiden sleeping with a large number of women or something. Skye has only been with him and her ex-husband who is a piece of work and was sexually abusing her. It was not a pretty thing to read.
If I had to describe the book using one word only, I would go for misunderstanding/miscommunication. There is lots of it and it all began almost a decade ago. It still continued in this story and it made things worse for our characters.
At some point, I wanted to shake some sense into Aiden. He was a little douchey and I was expecting more of him. The news he got took him by surprise and he said some things he shouldn't have. At least he knew that he was wrong and grooved. Skye's character is more complex than I initially thought and I found all her actions justified. I don't think that she could have done anything more in the past considering where she was coming from and how her circumstances were.
Overall, I will say that Entangled was good and enjoyable. My rating is 4.5 stars since neither 4 or 5 seem right and I will round it up to 5 despite Aiden's mistakes and not so kind words. We all make mistakes after all. show less

Riding with the Cop: An Erotic Sex Story Of Sexual Submission (The Pleasure Of His Punishment, #3) by J. S. Scott
"Oh my! He liked me so much he raped me! I'm so happy and excited now!" (not an actual quote; actual quote was: "Jake liked her? He had wanted her badly enough to blackmail her? She should have been angry...but she really wasn't.")
Rape play, dominance and submission, pet-play, etc. is one thing. Rape? Actual rape? Is rape.
Hot young woman. Hot muscle-man. Man with tons of strength and in a heightened position of power. Woman in vulnerable position. He rapes her. I do not find that to be what show more I would normally think of as "erotic sex". But a story of rape and betrayal. She respected him. Looked up to him. Expected him to do what was right. She was worried when he disappeared. She followed him to see if he needed help. He grabbed her, blackmailed her, and raped her.
"Oh hell...who was she trying to fool? She just had the most mind-blowing sex of her life and she wanted this man." (actual quote after the rape).
This is a very disturbing story on many levels. A man in power. A vulnerable woman. She liked it. So obviously rape is ok, right? Because she liked it this time? Fucking story sickens me. show less

I enjoyed this, and I liked both MCs. They had depth and some interesting quirks/personalities. The side-mystery/climax was solid. But I just didn't really FEEL; hence the 2.5 star rating.

College student Lilly is doing a ride along with Jake, a sergeant for the sheriff’s department, and she doesn’t understand the tension between them. When he’s called to check out a possible B&E, he tells her to wait in the car until it’s safe. She doesn’t listen, and the cop blackmails her into getting naked. Then the fun starts.
Despite the use of passive voice and some typos, the writing flowed well and kept my attention. I enjoyed the story, but I don’t like it when police show more officers abuse their power, especially with what’s going on in the real world right now. For the sake of erotica, however, the plot device fits.
