I really appreciate Joni's heart for the Lord. I have read several of her books. She has honed her writing craft and become an excellent story teller. I read this book in junior or senior high and don't remember many details. I'll come back and provide an update after I have had time to reread. As it is I skimmed a large portion and noticed that in dealing with suffering towards the end of the book she includes some graphic details about a woman who was nearly stabbed to death. I found it a show more bit harrowing and would caution mom's to read that over before giving this book to your children. show less
After her first book relating her struggles to accept her handicap, she was encouraged by hurting people all over the world. Out of this came a sense of responsibility to respond to others. A spiritual mentor Steve Estes relates more of her life as a quadriplegic. A personal story, telling honestly how God has used circumstances, individuals and evens to reveal more of Himself to Joni & to mold more of Himself in her. From her: I=wish-I=had=my- hands - days to the triumphant note "Heaven".*/
Joni Eareckson Tada attempts "to answer in part many of the questions people have raised regarding suffering by sharing from my own life."
