I gave this a try as an experiment to see if the ritual of logging each nearly daily ride would do something for me. Other than being able to easily see values like 52 weeks running that I can't do on my free tier of Strava, I don't see any point in this age for me to journal my rides. I did enjoy the practical advice, quotes (several from H.G. Wells), and general vibe encouragement. Among the helpful appendices is a lot of maintenance direction that I would like to grok some day and show more something that could be used for a repair history, which I wish I kept during the year. I also wish there was something to fill out that produced some graph or visual display. show less
Can't tell you how helpful this manual was when I was rebuilding an old bike. I bought it as the only comprehensive book on the subject - covering everything from tweaking your front suspension to putting on a new rear derailer to rewiring your brakes. And it continues to come in handy when I need to make the day to day tweaks of my current ride. It is as in-depth as you could want - making it useful for both the basics to the extremely advanced fixes you'd want to make. Done with clear show more photos & diagrams using simple to understand terminology. Would recommend it as a must have for anyone who wants the ability to fix a bike themselves instead of taking it to a mechanic. show less
