Sweet holy hell

This book... I'm speechless. I shouldn't be as this author is one that does this to me often so I should be used to it. Priest stories are not and miss for me. Maybe, because I was raised Catholic and the priests were nothing like Judas in looks of the wolf in priest's clothes.

I loved the underlying theme of dark vs light, good vs evil, and how the pure are even tempted. I appreciated the depth that this author out into the story and the symbology behind her choices; Judas, show more Delilah the dichotomy of a drug dealer/priest, owing of sins...The list is endless. Judas was delicious and I loved his backstory and cannot wait for the rest of his family to get a story. I'm intrigued by Saint and Jase. show less
Ronan Cole, at only 18, is ruthless and cunning. He believes that true power is never held by good men. In a calculated move, he takes out the boss and becomes the new kingpin of the Russian Bratva. He has goals and a vision and now no one can stand in his way. Twelve years later, Ronin is still in charge and is trying to acquire a four million dollar land deal in Mexico, unfortunately, the Mexican cartel boss, Jesus, does not make deals with Russians. Ronin will not take no for an answers show more and sets into motion pitting cartel against cartel and when the carnage is all said and done, he will swoop in and take his land for free this time.

Camilla Estrada, is only collateral to Jesus, to keep his enemy, her brother, in line. Little does Jesus know that she is the one to watch out for. Camilla would think nothing of slitting his throat while they were in bed. Left on her own while Jesus leaves to finish off her brother, his home is overtaken by Ronin and his men. Camilla is taken as captive and once she finds out who her captor is she knows she is well and truly f*cked. Not only is Ronin a Russian, but he was THE Russian. The only man the cartels had the utmost most respect for. Once again Camilla finds herself being taken to be used as a pawn only this time in Ronin’s quest for power. Camilla was no simpering miss though, she was quite cunning all on her own. Ronin will soon learn that she is not some dainty damsel in distress.

Ronin and Camilla compliment each other so well. They are both sick and twisted and purely evil. They feed off of each others depravity. Ronin expects her to show fear, but gets none of it. Instead, Camilla fights and claws at him every step of the way. She is a spitfire and a force to be reckoned with. Camilla is determined to break his cool and collective demeanor and tries everything in her power to make him crack. Ronin, in turn, enjoys and encourages her violent nature. Camilla is the female version of Ronin. They were a match made in hell.

Holey smokes talk about a dark romance! BAD is well…..quite bad, but in a good way. Never have a read a book where the main couple in the story were both bad to the bone….and boy were they bad! Stevie J. Cole and L.P. Lovell surely know how to keep you on the edge of your seat with a fast moving plot, characters like none other, and enough violence to make you want to scream for more! Then you finally get to the ending and you are left with a doozy of a cliffhanger. Why must you do this to me! That was just evil! I need the next book in the series like….NOW, please! Do I have to get on my knees and beg? I will!

Sick and twisted, just the way I like. That the heroine just kills pretty much every man she crosses as if there isn't a law against it, actually was kind of funny. The Hero was an evil bastard in his own right, but when he finds the one woman that he not only can't break, but surpasses him in body count, it seems like a match made in Heaven, although these two will never make it to the pearly gates, they really don't give a rat's ass. Read this if you get a kick out of a heroine who will show more literally take out her competition for the man who she decides is hers. The feeling was kind of like "Lucy...you have some 'splainin' to do...." if Lucy was out killing people, and Ricky was a new adult Russian mobster who gives up trying to break her, and ends up realizing that she was made for him. show less
4. 3 stars

This series is one of those that makes me giddy. I've been waiting for this book for what feels like forever. It continues the "story" of these amazing characters in its dark and suspenseful way. There is nothing sugary sweet about this dark underbelly crime syndicate. Yet, it still manages to give me hope. Hope, that love can grow in the darkest of places and that even the most broken of people can achieve happiness.

I was frustrated by the cliffhanger even though I shouldn't have show more been since each main character always has two books. Hopefully, the next will com soon. show less
