With the exception of the Preface, the book's Introduction, each Chapter's Introduction, the Glossary, and the Index, this book is structured in question and answer format covering every facet of C programming.

This book grew out of Steve Summit's C FAQ which is distributed on the com.lang.c Internet Newsgroup. More than 400 questions are answered -- accurately, insightfully, clearly, and with examples. These are real questions asked by real people who were attempting to learn to program in show more C.

The author says that the questions in this book are those that people typically have after reading an introductory C textbook or taking a C programming class. Therefore, this book is not a tutorial for learning C. It is a supplement to the reference manual and to the introductory textbook for people who have already taken a class or read a textbook on C and are still struggling with obstacles blocking their path to mastery of the language.

See http://c-faq.com/ for a collection of Steve Summit's hypertext pages on C programming FAQs.
