Short biography
Jackie has been making up stories since she was in grade school, but she followed her father's sage advice to get a day job and attended college after leaving high school. She graduated with honors from Central Michigan University in 1987 with a degree in journalism.

After briefly flirting with a career in magazine publishing—she interned at Good Housekeeping in New York during college—she settled on working in newspapers. She began as a copyeditor at the Grand Rapids Press in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the Niagara Gazette in Niagara Falls, New York. In 1991 she became the first female editorial writer at the Flint Journal in Flint, Michigan.

She began her own "happily ever after" in 1993 when she married her husband, Mark. They are the proud parents of two boys, Daniel and Will. She makes her home in mid-Michigan with family.

Published since 2000, Jackie decided to leave the Flint Journal in January 2004 to concentrate on fiction. She is the author of more than two dozen romance novels and novellas. She is a three-time RITA Award finalist, a four-time National Readers' Choice Awards finalist, the winner of a Rising Star Award in traditional romantic fiction and was nominated for Series Storyteller of the Year by RT Book Reviews in 2008.

Widowed single-mom Marnie decides she needs some alone time, so she has her parents watch her son while she heads to Mexico for a few days. Upon arriving at the place she rented on the beach where she had hoped for some privacy, she discovers she has a nearby neighbor, handsome JT. The two initially get off on the wrong foot, but after spending time together they discover that they are attracted to each other, although both of them are keeping secrets about themselves from the other.

I had show more hoped to enjoy this one since the premise was good and I've liked other books by this author. Unfortunately, I really disliked the heroine and she ruined my enjoyment of the book. She came off as way too full of herself and I really didn't like her brassy personality at all. And even at the end of the story she came off as a hypocrite when she gave JT hell for not being completely honest with her during their time together, when she herself was never completely honest with him either. show less
A well written book about greed and ambition and goals at crossed swords. However can two people overcome all the pain and suffering of their pasts and set aside the negativity barking at their heels? At the source of it all is trust (and some very noble friends and motives). I enjoyed this book immensely and will be looking for the zodiac man with MY sign!
Devin Abernathy owns a vintage clothing shop called Yesterday's Closet. She feels that she has been born in the wrong era and has a real fondness for the 1940's.

For years Devin has been dreaming of a handsome man who is trying to reach her, but can't. Lately she's having these dreams more frequently. One day she dons a coat that she gets at the shop and she becomes transported back through time to 1945, V-J day. And who should be there waiting for her but the same man (Gregory Prescott) she show more has been dreaming about...

This was such an enjoyable short story. It had some elements I like, time-travel and the 1940's setting. I liked both Devin and Gregory and I really wanted them to get their happy-ever-after.

A lovely time-travel romance.

Serena has always done things on impulse so it wasn't that much of a surprise when she found herself married to Jonas. It was a bit of surprise to Jonas, he had always played it safe, however he finds that he misses her, and his campaign manager is determined that there should be no scandal.

They create an arrangement to stay together for his career and they both find that it's hard to stay apart.

Pure bubblegum but I really did enjoy it, felt more novella sized than full sized, however the show more two main characters did work for me, I could also see how they both influenced each other quite well. show less
