I love me a geek! This story was such a delight to read... romantic, sparky female lead, hot and sexy geek male lead, and a plot line full of excitement and twists. Who could ask for more?
I love the changes Cassy and Scott go through. They have been friends since they were seven years old. Hard and fast, they have fought, supported each other, and most of all encouraged and helped each other through life.
Scott never realized Cassy has been in love with him all these years. Heck, he did not show more know HE was in love with her. They have both been reluctant to alter the parameters of their friendship... it is too important to keep being friends and not alter that.
I loved the scene in the honeymoon suite. Those two were simmering deep down with lust and expectation. The nervousness they both were experiencing was a great added bonus.
This story goes to show you, it is not impossible to teach a geek a little romance! show less

I enjoyed the premise and the story of Will and Mia and how their relationship unfolds over the year from Christmas Eve to Christmas Eve. But I wasn't expecting a book with such a sweet cover and title to have explicit sexual passages. I believe the author could have done without those details and still have presented a nice, romantic story.
I thank Tule Publishing for the ARC of this e-book.

I gotta be honest: I am a closet fan of romance novels. I started reading them way back in middle school (the torrid ones with the heaving bosoms on the covers), and while I don’t often read them now, I can certainly appreciate a good one. I’m a hopeless romantic as a direct result of my younger self’s obsession with them!
Gentlemen Prefer Nerds is my first non-YA review on the blog, and as such – I’m a little disappointed that show more I could only give it a 3. But the story just didn’t live up to my expectations. It tried a little too hard to be everything to everybody.
It was cute. It was fun. And I certainly enjoyed reading it. But…
Oh yes, there’s a but.
Maddie was too nerdy and then miraculously turned into the sex kitten she needed to be when necessary? Okay, so she was still a little clumsy – but it was just a little too neat and tidy for my tastes.
And making Fabian a faux 007 just took the cliches right over the top.
And to further add to the cliches was the writing itself.
"He wasn’t given to lurid descriptors but one word popped into his mind – she was luscious – with all of the life-giving, taste-tempting, juice sweetness of a perfectly ripe mango."
I actually burst out laughing when I read that. Then I read it again. Then I bookmarked it on my Nook. Then I laughed again.
And really, these things aren’t bad. The book was good! I enjoyed it! But they do prevent it from being great. And it is possible to write some really great romance (see: Diana Gabaldon).
Bottom line: if you want to read a light and fluffy book about a nerd and a Bond-esque Englishman… this is the one to read. show less

Sweet novel about two people on the rebound from a former relationship. They fall for each other the hard way but refuse to admit that.
The story begins and ends on Christmas Eve.
It is easy to read, just the book to curl op with on Christmas. The graphic part are just a bit too explicit for my taste, but sweet as well.
This is the second part in a series. It took me long to discover that. It is very well readable on its own.
