- Queenie Dorothy Roth married F.R. Leavis in 1929 -- she had been his student at Cambridge. She worked independently but they also wrote numerous works together. She also contributed to the journal Scrutiny founded by F.R. in 1932. Her essays on Jane Austen, Edith Wharton, and other women writers were published posthumously.
