This book is part of the Easy Reader Biographies, short biographies about important people. The book not only tells true facts but tells the story of the individual from the very beginning discussing their early childhood and what made them who they were.
The author includes quick facts, dates, and important events in the person's life. A great example of an informational book and biography.
This book is a good way for children to be introduced to what happens to their cat or dog when they go to the Vet. It can be scary if the child does not understand what is going on during the process. This is a good example of an informational book because it presents true information in a way that is easy for young readers to understand.
Use: Pets; What happens at the vet.

Great book for introducing Johnny Appleseed to students who are beginning to read. The book is about the adventures of Johnny Appleseed and his apple trees. The illustrations are beautiful and colorful which caught the attention of my students. I was also able to introduce my students to a glossary as we went over unfamiliar words. The book is definitely a great way to get students involved.
This book is a biography on Martin Luther King, Jr. It tells about how he wanted to peacefully changed the laws that separated blacks and whites. I would use this book in my classroom as it tells a very complicated story simple enough for young kids to understand. It also includes a glossary in the back so students can look up hard words they may not know. This book would be appropriate for grades 1st-3rd.
