A really fast read I checked out as an e-book from my local library. I love the tv show and have decided to read this series to see how it compares. What I like best us that it expands on the series, instead of being a rehashed and reworded episode. This is a new story geaturing familiar characters. I also enjoyed the way it added onto the previous chapter book about Kai. This one went deeper into Zane's issues, which is interesting because in the show the question if Zane's origins and show more family comes up way later than when they collect all the Spinjitzu weapons. It was interesting to see this come up earlier than the show presented it. This particular book also provides a close up experience with the main villain, which the previous book did not do. Excellent way of upping the ante. I would recommend these for fans of the series for sure. It adds a little bit more without being too heavy in terms of reading size or comprehension. Its quick to the point and easy to follow, not to mention brief. show less
Fun, quick book. I love the show so far and my local library has these e-books so I jumped on reading them. What I like best isthat they aren't just episode rehashes, but new stories that add on to what is seen in the show. This is not an episode, but a between story that builds upon the two main ninjas in it. It allows the reader a deeper look into the title character. While it isn't long, it is fun. It isn't the deepest or most detailed book, but for its target audience it does a good job!
As far as books that my 4 year old can enjoy, Ninjago books are a lot more entertaining than Bob the Builder and Thomas the Train. I really enjoyed reading this with him. We got him a couple of Ninjago lego sets for Christmas, and it's so fun that he can add books to his obsession with the franchise. When he gets a little bit older we'll move on from the comic type books to the chapter books. Well done LEGO.
The LEGO Ninjago books are based on the popular toys and television series. This story tells of Kai, a new ninja who working to establish his place as the greatest ninja ever known. But Kai is stubborn and prone to not following directions. If he stops and listens to Sensei Wu, he could be amazing. Kai is faced with a series of challenges, like fighting skeletons, before he is able to realize he shouldn't be so reckless and follow the directions of Sensei Wu. The book was a very quick read, show more clearly aimed at fans of Legos. The book would be helpful for reluctant readers or to encourage more boys to read. show less
