This was the first in a short-lived series of annual publications on quilt history. Sold by subscription and in the form of a paperback book, The Quilt Digest was one of the few quilt publications of its time to focus on historic quilts. Articles in this edition include:
The Log Cabin: An American Quilt on the Western Frontier by Sandi Fox
Amish Interiors Photographs by Susan Einstein, foreword by David Pottinger
Surviving Without Selling Out: Thoughts from a Quilt Artist's Journal by Michael show more James
Showcase by Roderick Kiracofe, featuring 20 contemporary and antique quilts
The Reiter Quilt: A Family Story in Cloth by Julie Silber
The Collector: Free Spirit in the West (Esprit Collection) by Michael Kile
Collecting Quilt Data: History from Statistics by Jonathan Holstein

The photos of Amish homes are in black and white, but most of the quilt photos are in color.
