Understanding and Using Reading Assessment, K-12 by Peter Afflerbach
I chose this book because I wanted to learn more about the use of reading assessment, and it was fairly short! It discusses different issues and concepts within assessment, different reading inventories, has some research summaries, and talks about different kinds of assessment. I liked that there were chapters devoted to the various forms of assessment: teacher questioning, portfolio, performance, etc. Another aspect that I liked was the chapter about assessing the non-cognitive parts of show more reading.
