The Death Planner by Gillian Larkin is a great ghost mystery where Grace is helping a ghost solve her murder but this time the ghost and murderer is from this time period. A very good mystery and very exciting because it gets suspenseful and usually her books stay pretty lighthearted. There is still the humor, and lots of twists (that's what keeps me coming back to her books). Love this writer's works. This is one of my favorite books! Love the plot and the ghosts and all the characters she show more brings to 'life'. show less
A nice fast read. The mystery is interesting and wraps up neatly. The character of Julia was fun to read and a likable person. This book was a lot of fun.
Julia Blake owns a cleaning business. She also has the habit of finding dead bodies. Julia promised her Dad she would hire an assistant and stop finding bodies. As if...

On Cain’s first day they visit on of one of her clients, a genealogist Hugo Barnes. Hugo has uncovered a family secret during the course of his work. He tells Julia that the client won’t be happy about the secret he’s discovered but he doesn't tell her who is the client or what is the secret.

Julia and Cain find Hugo’s show more dead body the next day. When Cain becomes a suspect (because of police prejudice of an ex-con?) she begins her own investigations into Hugo’s death.

A cozy mystery in the style of Agatha Christie. An enjoyable, bright and fast read.

I can't begin to tell you how overjoyed I am whenever I receive an email letting me know that a new book by Gillian Larkin has been released. In the middle of life's hassles, or when I'm feeling down, suddenly there's a new light-hearted mystery by Gillian and I just know by the time I sit down and read it, I'm going to be happy and in a great mood.
Ms. Larkin has several series at present and every one of them will bring a smile to your face. There is plenty of mystery, but her characters show more always manage to steal the show. In this latest one, Connie and Sable Butterworth just can't be beat. I love their banter and how they go about solving mysteries.
You'll definitely want to check out this gem of an author. I guarantee she'll give you something to smile about.
