There's some wonderful stuff in here — if you can find it. It loses points for the lack of index/4-line table of contents, and the "This Is Not the Super-Friends" essay that starts off the book: "This is not a super-heroes game. Sure, you can play it that way, but I just want to remind you that if you do so you're wrong wrong wrong." Sheesh. Talk about souring someone on the book before they even finish the first page.

There's some great stuff in here, I'm sure, but the opening polemic really colours the rest of it.… (more)

This is the third novel in the Year-of-the-Scarab trilogy. For White Wolf's World of Darkness games Hunter the Reckoning and Mummy the Resurrection and Wraith the Oblivion with strong ties in this one to Vampire the Masquerade.

The wraith Maxwell Carpenter is still causing problems for more people, and some of them are getting tired of it. He has stolen an ancient artifact that he hopes will help restore him back to the living and he has quite a few people pissed at him and would like to prevent such. It's a race to the end and everyone is wondering who to trust and who is more ignorant of the situation than themselves.

I really enjoyed the trilogy and this was on the better half of the stories put out by White Wolf as fiction for their games.

This is the second novel in the Year-of-the-Scarab trilogy. For White Wolf's World of Darkness games Hunter the Reckoning and Mummy the Resurrection and Wraith the Oblivion with strong ties in this one to Vampire the Masquarade.

The Hunters are back and so is Maxwell Carpenter, who turns out to be not such a nice guy and certainly not at all what he seems to be. Beckett turns up and steps into turmoil trying to get some answers for himself. Max is dealing with his own demons, and the Hunters are still mostly blundering around trying to get the hang of things.

I really enjoyed the trilogy and this was on the better half of the stories put out by White Wolf as fiction for their games.

This is a fiction work in White Wolf's World of Darkness. This is the first book the in the Year-of -the-Scarab trilogy. This trilogy is related fairly solidly in 3 of World of Darkness games. Mummy the Resurrection, Hunter the Reckoning, and Wraith the Oblivion, with a few light touches into Mage, Vampire and Werewolf.

In this first book we meet the hunters who are still learning about their powers and about the strange and powerful beings that share the world with them. The hardest lesson to learn is things aren't always as they appear.

Some of the creatures in the WoD are very powerful, very resourceful which makes them very dangerous. One needs to decide very carefully who's friend who's enemy and what to do with both.

I really enjoyed this series and they were fairly decent for WoD fiction. Kept the action going, recommended.
