It was a simple book but it moved me deeply. What a wonderful reminder that living is easy but loving is easier. If it's not then review and remove anything that is in the way. THAT'S the hard part.

There is some complex theology here but again, it doesn't have to be difficult. At the time I read it I understood it. But, the influence of this book inspired me to dig more deeply into my beliefs and then into the teachings of my church. I had gotten tied up in the history of the evil things done in its name. But I was reassured and reconnected to the deep beauty hidden at the core. Evil is most certainly there. But that shouldn't be shocking. Where else would it be but trying to hide what it cannot abide. Throw out those things that aren't in keeping with the most basic point.

Obviously, that doesn't mean ignore the evil. It must be faced, acknowledged and beaten from the door with the passion of our very core of humanity. Wherever one finds injustice, intolerance and inhumanity the response must be to get rid of it. Where we do another harm or pain then we must pursue the love we see modeled in the stories and passion demonstrated there.

Follow whatever is simple and whatever is tying us in knots is keeping us from that simplicity. What looks incredible and impossible turns out to be natural and peaceful when we just let it go.

What a good inspiration novel with a message. The author has a unique way of introducing people to God and his true love for us. Someone may read this novel, where they may not read a "Christian" book. I found it very entertaining. It was funny it parts and sad in others. It was a short read, I read it an afternoon.
