Swords & Circuitry: A Designer's Guide to Computer Role-Playing Games (Game Development) by Neal Hallford
A bit of a miscellany, some parts are feeling really dated, but there are (implicit) checklists and sample docs that are really useful spurs for thought. The trick is finding them in the mass of pages.
Swords & Circuitry: A Designer's Guide to Computer Role-Playing Games (Game Development) by Neal Hallford
An excellent look at video games in the roleplaying genre from the designer's point of view. I actually found several of the chapters highly applicable to project management anywhere, not just in video game production. I highly recommend this book if you are curious about the process behind making a AAA video game title.
Very helpful and informative. It's really more of a book that you use as a reference guide rather than something you read cover to cover, but I got this from the library and want to get through my other books as well. It also refreshed my memory on a number of mathematical ideas, so for this I am very grateful.
The best. Explains everything thoroughly.
