About the Author
In 1963, Dave Logan got his first ride in an off-road vehicle, his grandfather's old Jeep. As a kid, he spent a lot of time outdoors. In 1993, he bought his first Jeep and has never looked back. As an avid 4WD explorer, he has traveled on dirt roads and trails all over the United States. In 2007, show more he became a certified International 4WD Trainer and opened the 4WD School. He began working internationally shortly after that. Dave is a member of the Tread Lightly! board of directors. show less

It is a clear and concise introduction to many of the questions that beginners will face in choosing a vehicle, driving, and modifications. It does an excellent job of presenting both advantages and disadvantages of many of the choices that need to be made by an off-road driver. Each of the 12 chapters is pretty-much self-contained so a reader can choose any topic to read at any time. However, this does result in some repetition if one is reading the book from beginning to end.

The Ultimate Off-Road Driver's Guide by Dave Logan is an excellent introduction to off-road driving for beginners. It is a clear and concise introduction to many of the questions that beginners will face in choosing a vehicle, driving, and modifications. It does an excellent job of presenting both advantages and disadvantages of many of the choices that need to be made by an off-road driver. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Terrific book. Well-organized, well-written, and very detailed.The pictures are fantastic. The scope of the book while broad includes some very interesting projects.
