Angel: After The Fall, Vol. 1 by Joss Whedon

Not where I had expected the storyline to go... In a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles which has been sucked into hell, the cast of Angel are still fighting the good fight... kind of. Really interesting continuation of the show, though I wish that Whedon et al had decided to go with traditional novels instead of graphic novels. It's great of see everything visually but it's such a character driven storyline that I think it might have been stronger with just words.

Angel: After the Fall, Vol. 3 by Joss Whedon

Loved the dialogue in this one. Brian Lynch really did a great job staying true to Joss Whedon's style.

Angel, Vol. 6: Last Angel in Hell by Brian Lynch

I absolutely loved the first 2/3 of this. In the sixth volume of Angel After the Fall, Brian Lynch continues to impress, and the artwork lives up to the show, the characters and the stories. I especially loved the nod to the Buffy episode when Ethan Rayne makes his first appearance. Wonderful!

I would have rated this 5 stars if the last third of the book wasn't just one long joke on movie adaptations. Funny? Yes. Funny enough to last more than 7 or 8 pages? Not really.

Still, it's a must-read for those of us who felt like the show ended too soon and who can't get enough of Whedonesque humor.… (more)
