Pillar of Sand: Can the Irrigation Miracle Last? by Sandra Postel

A world renowned expert on water rights, the author is looking at the problems with irrigation and the projected shortages of water that could change how we do agriculture in the not too distant future. The author writes in an engaging style, and the book reads almost like an adventure novel.
