For centuries, Raith has snuck into the dreams of humans to cause mischief and mayhem. Though he used to thrive on being a troublemaker, he’s since become bored with his immortal life as a Fae. When he wanders into Emilee’s dream, he soon realizes he can’t control her dream and twist it in any way he wishes. She’s different, and he doesn’t know why. Emilee can also see him, which has never happened to him before. As they interact and get to know one another in the dream, Raith soon realizes what he needs to be happy and complete, but a Fae and a human cannot have a future together. Or so he believes.
I really enjoyed this story. The H/h are strong characters, and they have an instant connection. Raith was definitely mischievous, but he matured as he fell in love with Emilee. She was exactly what he needed. Emilee, as well, needed an escape from her own sad life, and she literally met the man of her dreams.
The story is told only in Raith’s POV and in first person, so the reader really gets to know and understand what makes him tick. The pacing was a little slow and repetitive at times, and there were some typos, but nothing major. The ending is abrupt with unanswered questions, but there is a satisfying HEA.
Anyway, this is a very sweet, heartwarming, and mostly clean (no sex) novella, and I’d like to read more from Ms. Solomon.

Historical time travel excitement during American Revolution

Olivia is an amazing painting conservationist....she helps bring old paintings that have been faded or torn back to life...her latest painting takes her breathe away....a man that makes her heart beat just a little faster. She has no clue who he is...all she can sense is the month August 1777 as a clue. His eyes seem to be telling a story she longs to hear....but who the check is he? Since her parents perished a few years back on Christmas night, work has become her safe haven. For once she resents to the pleas of her best friend and goes to dinner with the family. On her way home she almost hits someone on the bridge. In shock she stomps on her brake only to be rear ended straight into the frigid waters below. All that runs through her mind is she will soon join her parents, and will never learn who the mystery man in the painting was. Little did she know....next thing she knows she's being pulled from the water by some Brita in period clothing. What he check was going on? As minutes go by, she realizes there are no street lights or modern things at all. Unless this is one amazing reinaction....is she going crazy? After all, what she's thinking couldn't possibly be true.....she's in the middle of the American Revolution!!! Take this ride with Olivia and see her finally meet her mystery painting man...and that's only the very beginning of this wonderous tale. I for one am really looking forward to book two coming out....be warned, there IS one doozy of a cliffhanger.… (more)

I didn't care for this time-travel/treasure hunt/love story/pirate adventure. It had some interesting elements but it all just didn't gel.

The Samantha and Tristan love story was unconvincing, and honestly Samantha was an annoying character. Many of the scenes of pirate battles were quite violent and gory. There was a lot of talk about a booby-trapped treasure pit at Oak Island that didn't make much sense to me; plus the Knights Templar figured heavily in the story. My brain just seizes up when the Knights Templar make an appearance in a book I‰ÃƒÂ›Ã‚ªm reading, which happens with surprising frequency. I don't really understand what they were all about and I just don't find the subject interesting enough to research it.

So anyway, there was an obvious cliffhanger/seque into the next one but I won't be continuing with the series.
