Dex, the Little Red Crane, and his operator Pete like to help on big projects! They are always up for the challenge! Along the way, they meet many other cool cranes and see many cool vehicles. All the while, they are being helpful and friendly. Also, not to spoil, but I thought the big job at the end was cute and amusing! I definitely did not expect that ending.
There's lots of terminology used in this book that I didn't know, but I know little kids who loves trucks and building will adore it. Telescopic crane was one of those terms I had to do a little digging to learn about, but it was worth it. The pictures and colours are also on point, and make for a very supplement to the story.
I also really liked the fun facts about cranes at the end! Little educational moments make books like this totally worth it!
I think this book will be an excellent addition to children's bookshelves and classrooms. Children who love cars and building will definitely think this book is a smash.
Four out of five stars.
