Description
1. (Fictitious character) In Alan Armstrong's Whittington, Bernie is the owner of a Texaco gas station and a small piece of farm land. He and his wife Marion are raising their grandchildren, Abby and Ben, after the death of their daughter and the disappearance of their son-in-law. Bernie has a very soft heart for animals, and most of them are strays or unwanted animals that someone has foisted off on him.
