- About My Library
My username is a Nabokov reference about Ada, or Ardor - Ada is a perfect butterfly for the synsthete Nabokov (yellow / black / yellow) and the title is a play on how close the word "Ada" is to ад - hell in Russian. Ada is love, ardor, or it is a door to hell.
My library focuses on:
Russia; the country, politics, literature, especially Vladimir Nabokov
Religion; specifically, Satanism, Catholicism, fairy/folk tales & myths
The "durational" disciplines (as they are defined by Bard MFA); Music/Sound, Film/Video & Writing
I also try and acquire first editions and/or signed copies when possible, usually books about one of these above topics. My rarest tag is "triple crown", books I own in at least three different formats -- physical book, audiobook, screenplay, physical film (DVD or VHS). Everyone should also read the books under "my friends wrote this" because they are amazing and deserve your support, I promise. The books I used to write my thesis are tagged "ACV."
I work at a library and hold an MFA in Writing and an honorary MFA in Music/Sound.
