About My Library
My own library at home is large and includes books I haven't read or have just read parts of, and covers psychology, self-help, personal growth (including many books on the Enneagram and Carl Jung's theory of psychological type - MBTI), alternative healing, metaphysics, history, literature, mysteries, other fiction, religion, spirituality, and books about books. On this site I have just gone through and removed books that I didn't like. I want to use the recommendations and if those come from books in my library here, I want that library to reflect what I have enjoyed. Hence, I have also removed books from a long series to just leave a couple as a representative.

When it comes to ratings - I am really conservative. - For me a 5 star book would be outstanding - something I would want to reread regularly. A 4 star book has to be really special and something I would also probably reread, although not as often. Most of the books that I enjoy get 3 1/2 stars.
About Me
I am a retired psychotherapist living in the Midwest. In the past, when I was working, I read a lot of nonfiction related to my work. That included and still includes books on metaphysics and spiritual development. I also read books on alternative healing and history. Given the nature of my profession, when I turned to fiction, I looked for something light, e.g., mysteries with humor. I find I still like those and definitely don't like anything that is "grim", but I also enjoy mysteries with more depth. I also enjoying reading stories about personal and spiritual development.
