I went to the main search screen, and searched on "The Medusa-Sanction" and "Medusa-Sanction", but The Medusa-Sanction aka GURPS Der Medusa-Virus http://www.librarything.com/work/8650817 didn't show up. It only shows up using a name that only appears in the editions list and in personal catalogs, which is non-intuitive.

Strange. When I go looking online for the title, all I get is redirected back to the (I believe) German version with the ISBN 3930635429. When I do a lookup for the title by that isbn, I get only the German title. I can;t find an actual listing under the English title.

There isn't one. It's from GURPS Cyberpunk Adventures, but instead of translating the whole book, the German publishers translated one adventure and published that on its own. Using the English name of the adventure in the Canonical Title is debatable, but I'm sure I can find cases where someone has added a book and someone who doesn't have the book has corrected the book's title in a Canonical Title.

Hmmm, a better idea would be an Optional Title field. I've seen a few of those that needed them. Reading a Manga series this afternoon that's like got three different series titles.

Still a problem in the new search.

Similar but different bug report about Author search not taking CN into account:

Has been fixed.

Not actually. Or if it has, it's not on all.

Okay, then, we need a better example, because this one works now. Yet it still seems like the only reason it works is because you added in SOME code to search the CT. Did you? The editions only shows "Medusa-Virus", not "Medusa-Sanction". The only place I can find "Medusa-Sanction" is in the CT. Yet the search works:

Thinking about it it should be fixed, but it will only count the canonical title field in English, I think.

Is original title included?

Not if it's not elsewhere among the editions. Must fix.

Canonical title works, although canonical titles in other languages get in the way under some circumstances. The core bug is fixed, though.
