Grouptagwatch

Like tagwatch, but for group tags. So, for example, you watch the tag "Ancient History", and it shows groups that get tagged Ancient History.

In addition to a homepage module, there would be a separate page where you could see all recent results. This would have a view option that showed each group only once, in reverse order of creation.

Very good idea. But * he mutters grumpily * I would still want the real tag watch back first.

Oh, and a sideline to this: There could be an auto-follow option that made you automatically start following any new groups with a given tag. Tim wants something like this, anyway.

I wouldn't want a separate module. I'd want something in the Talk module that allows filtering by tag, so that I could switch to Ancient History or whatever and see threads for just those groups. Of course I don't want a ridiculously long list of tags; I want to create a subset list of the tags that I care about so I can switch between them easily. And I want to see starred threads within each category (with an option for "all").

In essence, I want (a) some mechanism for autofollow so I don't have to actively seek groups of interest, and (b) configurable filtering.

I think I'd want something between having to manually watch the list for interesting groups and being auto-joined. How about an option to have it send me a profile comment when a group acquires one of my specified tags?
