LT's top books of 2011, rough manual edition

I was extremely impressed and happy with eromsted's heroic efforts in compiling a list of LT's top-rated books published in 2010, and I'd like to do something similar for 2011. But the amount of work required to do it systematically is really crazy, so I thought we might be able to approximate a similar list just by noting down relevant 2011 books as we come across them.

Based on the previous list, I'd say that any books with a rating of 4.20 or higher over at least 20 ratings are noteworthy.

Here are a couple to start:

I can see what the average rating is but where can I see how many people have rated the book?

You have to tally the numbers in the righthand column, where it shows the breakdown of ratings.

Darkest Mercy by Melissa Marr currently has a rating of 4.2 (53 raters)

#13 - That hasn't even been published yet. Are we to assume those who've already rated it got ARCs? I noticed not one of them posted a review.

But out or not, I'm not sure how we can filter "real" ratings and those done in anticipation and general appreciation of an author's works, or downright militant voting -.-

Don't worry, I'd rather have a book listed and then find out that it doesn't qualify than not find out about a qualifying book because people were being overly cautious :)

I think (hope?) that it's only for the very popular books that fake ratings would be much of a concern.

The Emperor of All Maladies- This came out too late in 2010 to make last year's list. (Nov. 16) Besides, there needed to be some NF on this list.

4.45, 150 ratings

Wow, that is an impressively high rating. I agree that more NF would be nice, too.

I dream of someday having something like this GoodReads feature, with a ratings option as well as a popularity option. Then we could get an up-to-date list of the top-rated books of 2010.
