I separated several themed calendars from book "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" because I believe that they are different enough to be different works from the book. Calendar vs. book. Isn't it obvious that they are very different? Now someone has combined them back. They didn't remove the do-not-combine disambiguation notice that I left. Now the notice shows in the main work page.

Other question: I thought there was a consensus to separate abridged versions from the main work. Is it so? I recently separated some, and I need to know if I did right.

Of course they should be separated.

Yes, that's the consensus.

I agree.

Yes. That doesn't stop people from combining them in anyway, though. Sometimes it seems like 99% of what we do is cleaning up after twits who combine when they shouldn't, or add extraneous crap to their titles, or enter every one of the 5,000+ books in their library with only a first name for the author and no last name.

Someone did that? I can't imagine someone doing that intentionally. Sounds like a screwed-up import.

I'm sure it is a screwed-up import; unfortunately all the books were entered in September and the user hasn't done anything since, so it's unlikely that he's around to fix it.

#1 Sigh! Now it has to be done again because, of course, they should be separate.
And I agree with #2-4 that abrdged eds. should be separated. My fuzziness is whether a slightly abridged should be combined with a children's abridged, etc. It gets sticky.

I would keep them separate if possible. Children abridgment and just abridgment are different things..

The careless member had caused even more damage than I originally noticed. He had combined an abridged audiobook version of the work back to the full work - a few hours after I had separated them. I have again separated the calendar and the abridged audiobook. I have also contacted the member in question.
