Post here if you want to participate in April's TIOLI challenge to Read a book from the bold part of the tag mirror of the person below you. The person who posts after you is the one whose books you'll be choosing from!

If 24 hours pass without anyone posting, we'll go back to the top (i.e., you choose one of my books). People can still sign up after that point, of course.

ETA: I wonder whose books I'll be choosing from?

bohemima

Of course, I still don't understand how it works, but heck, it's not even April yet.

ETA: Aha! Figured it out. My choices are Cicero or Hotel du Lac, but I'm not sure which one I'll pick.

Gail, we'll give you four days to figure it out! ;)

(I'm not in this challenge. I meant to comment, not to sign up. Sorry.)

OK, I'm in. Gulp. Now I'm going to be sitting here hitting F5 to see who's next to post!

Bohemima, I hope you find some books in my library that you like the look of and can get hold of easily.

Count me in. I have no idea what I'm doing but I'll figure it out, somehow.

Mary (bell7), you've got a lot of great books for me. It's fun browsing.

Megi53, we don't have a lot of books in common but you've got a whole lot of books to choose from. Have fun!!

I'm in! Can't wait to see whose books I'll be choosing from. :)

I hope you like my books bell7, of course not quite as much as I hope I like the books of the one who posts after me.

I'm up for this too!

OK, sign me up! (one of these months, I want to try to read something from every challenge, so...)

This sounds like fun - I'm in. Can/t wait to see whose books I get to choose from!

*Waving* to everyone.

17Morphidae
Edited: Mar 28, 2011, 3:47 pm

Count me in. Who will I get?

ETA: Chick lit - Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood!

I thought I was going to have to direct my person to the non-bolded items in my tag mirror since all the bolded ones are my Paganism books. But I guess not! LOL.

18katiekrug
Edited: Mar 28, 2011, 3:54 pm

You get me, Morphidae. I hope you find something of interest and feel free to ask for a recommendation :-)

Okay, who's next?!?!

ETA: Lots of good possibilities in Ivy's books - and lots I already own :-) I may do several different tags...

19ivyd
Edited: Mar 28, 2011, 4:57 pm

I guess I'm your target, Katie. I hope there are some that you haven't read (and want to read)!

ETA: Oh, yes, there are several that interest me a lot, Karen, and your many Atwoods tempt me to try her again (I thought she wrote beautifully but was less than thrilled with The Handmaid's Tale). But given your 5* rating and that I've had it on my wishlist for a while, I think I'll start with Fingersmith. Now I just need to get ahold of it!

Okay, I'm in too. Hope there's something of interest for you ivyd!

21souloftherose
Mar 28, 2011, 4:52 pm

I'm signing up, although looking at my own tag mirror, I seem to have not very many bold tags and the ones I do have are a bit obscure so I'm a bit worried for wisechild...

Edited: Mar 28, 2011, 5:11 pm

I'm in too - I could do with a change!

ETA: Sorry Lizzie - I snuck in!

You have a really interesting tag mirror - I thought I might pick something from the Virago Modern Classics tag. That's well outside my comfort zone! Any suggestions?

With apologies to Heather - I should really have checked my tag mirror before joining! :o)

23LizzieD
Mar 28, 2011, 5:00 pm

I'm already so off my reading schedule that one more in April isn't going to matter. But oh! I hope I get a good one!!
(Heather, surely, you'll find something you can read...I hope, I hope.)

24SqueakyChu
Edited: Mar 28, 2011, 7:39 pm

Okay, Zoe. I'll bite. I'm in.

ETA: Oh, no!! It's Cheli - who has the most different reading taste of everyone else on LT from me! :)

*goes to explore*

ETA: Zoe, this is fun! I love the mystery of it.

25cyderry
Mar 28, 2011, 7:35 pm

Okay, I'm going to give it a shot. Maybe I'll get lucky and have someone who loves mysteries!

26thornton37814
Mar 28, 2011, 8:37 pm

I'm afraid to play. There are too many people who have complete opposite reading tastes from me in the 75 book thread.

27Alleycatfish
Mar 28, 2011, 9:07 pm

I've never done a TIOLI challenge before. This one sounds fun. I'm in. :)

Totally sorry there, thornton37814. If you did sign up, our tastes are so very different.

I think thornton is not participating, so cyderry will read a book from Alleycatfish and Alleycatfish will read a book from whoever posts after me (I don't count since I already posted at the beginning).

Also, welcome to TIOLI!

Edited: Mar 29, 2011, 11:12 pm

OK OK I'll try...

yikes...

--- I hope I did this right - went to MickyFine/Cloud/Tag Mirror, found Toronto as a bold tag, clicked it, and Alias Grace was listed as a choice. Since this book was on my "read this someday list", and it's under "Books You Share with Micky", I just requested it from the library. Wish me luck squeezing it in during April! So glad we're starting TIOLI early! :)

Alright, this could be interesting.

I'm going to try Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination. Should be fun. :)

I'll try. And then, will take it... or leave it, since I saw Zoe said that was fine on the other thread.

Sounds like fun. I'm in too.

ETA: now that I actually look at my tag mirror, I feel like I should apologize for all the bold series tags in there :)

35qebo

With a bit of trepidation... I'm in.

ETA: Hah! I've already found one, chinquapin.

Sign me up!

gennyt - I will apologize now. I just looked at my tag mirror, and I don't know what you are going to read. Somehow "Idaho" became a bolded tag for me. I know nothing that I've read that takes place there, and the books listed don't shed any light onto that tag. Have fun!

42AnneDC
Mar 30, 2011, 4:24 pm

OK I will give this a try...

I am signing up for this one too!

I hope there is something of interest to you, Anne, I listed all new additions (meant to do it for days) but my library is still a lot smaller than most on LT.

edited because Anne signed up while I was procrastinating

I don't even know which of my titles are bold, so I'm as curious as you are.

I will have no trouble finding a fun read from Brenzi's tag mirror- We share a similar taste in mysteries and HF. I hope you have as good luck, B.

I'll give it a go. Just hope that I can find something off my shelves:)

Edit to say that AnneDC was already signed up for the challenge. so I got jtelling and have picked my book - The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

49AnneDC
Apr 1, 2011, 10:25 am

>43 portnova: No worries, portnova. I found tons of choices, including many from my own shelves, and am going with Gilead. Have you read it? (I know a lot of the books in my own library are ones I "plan" to read someday.

Apr 1, 2011, 1:09 pm

This sounds like fun for me but I have to say I have a very boring tag cloud - sorry AnneDC ! (Someday I'll start updating my LT to include books I read before I joined LT. )

Signing up now. I must say this tag mirror is fascinating. I hope you like fantasy, jt!

Apr 3, 2011, 11:09 am

Okay, I'm in!! It's more than 24 hours, so humouress, i think you get to choose between my tag mirror and Zoe's.
If nothing else, I've learned about tag mirrors through this process!

> humouress - I am not a huge fantasy reader but I'm willing to give it a go. I've selected Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb from your collection. What do you think? The cashier at the book store took one look at what I was buying and launched into the most passionate description of a book I've heard in a long time! I'm looking forward to starting it!

54humouress
Apr 5, 2011, 12:13 am

'Assassin's Apprentice' is a good choice - one of my favourites, too. Hobb does a beautiful job of telling the story of a boy growing up on the outskirts of the royal family, and weaves mystery, magic and intrigue through her tale. But it is the first of a trilogy, so if you like it (which I hope you do), you'll have two more to read.

The fellow at the book store is sure I will be back. I think he already put them aside for me :)
