What fun! I'm in. :)

I'm in too! (Hope you find something good bell7)

ETA Lots of wonderful choices and I am going with Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day, partly because CatyM has read it and gave it lots of stars, and because I've been seeing many good reviews here on LT. But first I have to get it from the library.

I'm in.

Anne, I hope there's something interesting there for you. It looks like there's a good few to choose from, anyway!

I'll give it a go, hope you can find something Caty:)

Edit to add - I've found the book I would like to read from Carrie's recommended list and I saw a couple of copies of An Instance of the Fingerpost by Iain Pears at my favourite second hand book supplier today, hopefully at least one of them will still be there next time I'm in town. I'll hold off on adding it to the wiki until I get hold of a copy.

I'm probably over-committed already, but I can't resist this one.

ETA: My pick from Ivy's recommended list is Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. It's one I've been wanting to read but haven't managed to get around to. It was already on my OverDrive audio wishlist through my public library. I'm first on the list so I'll have access to it before July is over.

I have some pretty specific reading planned for July, but I can't resist this one either.

ETA: Some great choices for me, Mike! Of the 64 books suggested, I've read probably about 1/3 of them, most of which I really liked. I found 7 books that are high on my wishlist, and chose Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day -- because it's the only one (besides a re-read of Othello, which I probably won't get to this month) that I already have, and because you gave it 5*.

I'll play.

me too!!

ETA: Think I'll go for the first one on the borrowed list The Help, hope the library has got it now!!

Me! Me! Pick me!

ETA: I'm grabbing Reading Lolita in Tehran as it's already on my TBR list!

Edited: Jul 11, 2011, 2:42 pm

I'm in too. I liked the last one like this! (Morphidae I hope you find something really good.)

Genny, not surprisingly there were heaps of great books in the list. I'm going to try out my Kindle-for-Ipad with The Warden.

Count me in too - lots of choices on the suggested 'borrow' list for you, Cushla, I hope one of them is right for you!

Edited to add:
I was sure when I first looked at the list of books I should borrow from Monica (crazy4reading) it listed The moving finger by Agatha Christie. Now I see not that one, but another Christie - The Body in the Library. Anyway, I've now read both, so have managed this challenge!

Count me in too. Hope you find something to borrow Genny!

Wow 86 books to borrow.. It is hard narrowing it down.

Edited: Jun 30, 2011, 4:15 pm

I need to try this.
Good luck Monica

Thanks Athabasca - I'll go with The door in the hedge by Robyn McKinley as it fits one of my 11in11 challenge categories.

I loved the last of these, so I'm in.
Best of luck Kerry!

ETA: That's great brenpike... I've been meaning to read The curious incident of the dog in the night-time for absolutely ages. I have an autistic nephew and it'll be interesting to see what life might look like to him! Good luck with your own "loan"!

>14 avatiakh: Kerry - Mckinley is one of my favourite authors - I hope you enjoy it.

I'm in . . . Too fun to resist!

Hi lahochstetler. Of the 195 books I should borrow from you(!?), I have chosen Dry by Augusten Burroughs. I bought a copy last month at the suggestion of a friend from one of my RL book clubs so I'll be killing two birds with one stone (or book) if you will . . .

#17 I hope you find something you like. :)

Count me in. This sounds like fun.

#20 Thanks, Shauna. Books to borrow lists 30 books I should borrow from you and there are a few I'm considering. For now, I will probably go with Candyfreak: A Journey Through the Chocolate Underbelly of America by Steve Almond.

Edited: Jul 8, 2011, 2:47 am

Sign me up. Good luck Linda!

Lots of good stuff there Suzanne! I'm thinking The Help, Packing for Mars or The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake.

Edited: Jul 4, 2011, 1:14 am

I changed my mind -- please take me out of the lineup (i.e., madhatter22 moves on to chatterbox). I only had 10 books for madhatter22 to borrow.

Edited: Jun 30, 2011, 10:43 pm

OK, I'm in! Hope you find something fun here, Megi53!

ETA: Hmm, about 75% of recommendations are books that I've read! But I spotted some Geraldine Brooks on the list, as well as Zeitoun.

23katiekrug
Edited: Jun 30, 2011, 9:46 pm

Me too!

Good luck, Suz!

ETA - We "share" over 300 books according to LT, so surely you can find something ;)

Edited: Jun 30, 2011, 10:46 pm

I also can't resist! Count me in too!!

ETA: Yay! I'm going with the first one on the list, Cutting for Stone.

25SqueakyChu
Edited: Jun 30, 2011, 11:53 pm

I can't resist. I'm in, too!

Have fun, _debbie_!!

ETA: Do I use megi53's books or wait for the next person? ...or (now) the next after Suzanne? (since they both already posted above)

*confused* ...which is a word I try to avoid saying at work because then my manager wants to know why I'm confused. :/

ETA2: I'm going with thornton37814. I'll read either The Lace Reader or The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie.

I've already signed up for too many challenges this month, but this one sounds like fun. Who will be next?

ETA: I am going to read A Finer End by Deborah Crombie which was #38 on Dejah_Thoris list. I had read several of the recommendations in the past (before I began using LibraryThing), but this one is the next in line for me with Deborah Crombie's series anyway (although I've read many of them out of order and have read some of the later ones).

Add me in -- I hope I have something you'll like!

This is a great challenge, and even though I'm very booked for July, count me in.
I'll be interested to see what unfolds from here.

It's still June 30 here on the west coast of the U.S., and we're already so deeply into July challenges. How cool is that???
~Ellen ^..^

//What does ETA stand for?//

I think I'm going with Mrs. Dalloway since it's on my TBR and I own it. All the Kate Atkinson options were tempting, so I guess I reserve the right to change my mind....???

A lot of the recommendations were books I've already read (and in many cases loved) years ago - so they are not in my LT library. Soupdragon - your reading taste appears to have at least some overlap with mine!

31Soupdragon
Edited: Jul 1, 2011, 3:44 pm

I can't resist this even though I had been planning on reading mostly YA and Orange nominees this month!

Ellen- I hope you find something you enjoy.

ETA: I have checked out what LT thinks I should "borrow" from Jacqueline and think I will probably chose Heavens Eyes by David Almond (no touchstone) which looks great and should be fairly easy to obtain as they have a copy at my local library. Alternatively I could read The Magicians of Caprona which would be even easier as my son has a copy in his bedroom!

I want in.

33Smiler69
Edited: Jul 1, 2011, 10:43 pm

No doubt about it, I'm over-commited for the month, but curiosity is making me do this!

Jacqueline, hopefully I've got something of interest for you.

eta: lots of great choices with Stasia of course, though I was surprised there were *only* 69 recommendations considering the size of her collection! I think I'll go with Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams, because it's the only one I have any kind of hope to actually fit in, and I see there's a dramatized version on Audible. The perfect follow up to the original BBC recording of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!

I'm in! Stasia, I hope you find something in my library that you haven't already read!!!

36countrylife
Edited: Jul 1, 2011, 9:40 pm

Me, too.

eta: Well, Judy, with 164 books to choose from on the what-I-should-borrow-from-DeltaQueen-list, the hard part was narrowing it down! I chose The Madonnas of Leningrad because its been on my wishlist for quite a while, and I happened to have just brought that book home from a used book store a few weeks ago. Serendipity! I'm glad you happened to follow me in this thread!

37DeltaQueen50
Jul 1, 2011, 4:13 pm

I was trying to resist this one, but I just can't. Hope you find something you like Countrylife.

Jul 1, 2011, 9:33 pm

I'll play along!

39LizzieD
Jul 1, 2011, 10:31 pm

It seems sad to leave Cait just sitting and waiting, so I'll play too. And I'm off to see what LT thinks you should read of mine, Cait!

Jul 1, 2011, 11:20 pm

#35: I am not seriously worried about finding something in your library that I have not read, Donna, but I am worried that my local library will not have it! :)

41humouress
Edited: Jul 3, 2011, 11:07 am

I'll try it.

ETA : just had a look at the feature, and it looks like I've only got 6 books you should borrow from me, Peggy, compared to over 60 I should borrow from you!

42jacqueline065
Jul 14, 2011, 1:55 pm

From Smiler69's library I have borrowed, The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing. It arrived yesterday and I am enthralled with it!
