All I remember is it was a purple paperback. It was about 3 witches . It was from the early 1970's. The title started with "witches"

Were they good witches? Bad witches? Any general idea of what the work was about?

I remember a little girl walking into the house and seeing a witch in the back yard in the garden. There were 3 witches who I believe were sisters. The cover had showed one of the witches on the front porch. This book is paperback and would be from the 1968 to 1975

#6: it's from the 80s, so it's indeed too late. It was the first book to spring to my mind as well, but I don't think it fits with the description in #4.
