I'm not sure if anyone has heard of these, but there is a new dystopic fantasy series- Matched. Check it out! I have to go now, but will post more later!

I've read the first book. It is more thoughtful then The Hunger Games and not as action packed, but I liked a lot of the elements that Ally Condie (the author) put into the book. I'm reading the second book right now, Crossed, and unfortunately I am not too far in it.

What are they about?

They're about a girl named Cassia who lives in a futuristic society, where the Society (the government) controls every aspect of your life - what you eat, where you work, when you die and especially who you love. Oh, and you're not allowed to write, and except for 100 government approved poems, there is no new writing.
When a girl and a guy turn seventeen, they are matched with another person by the Society. Cassia is turning seventeen, so it is her turn to be matched. She is taken to a holoscreen/computer thing and they flash up a picture of her best friend, Xander - that is the person she will be matched with. She is very happy, but then for a brief split second, another person's face show up on the screen: a dude she's barely talked to named Ky.
After that, let's just say that Ky will have a 'bad' influence on Cassia. :) Especially when he teaches her how to write.

I've read only the first book, so far, so I can't give an honest judgment, but I enjoy both books for their individual charms - The Hunger Games being more action centered and Matched is more like a chess match. Some people have found Matched to be boring and slow paced, but I have infinite patience with books and I enjoyed the pace.

Ally Condie
i was a little dissipointed, to be honest. i found cassia a little ditzy for all of the fights going on in her head.
