On book pages & work pages, the grid of other authors doesn't show up in the Other Author section, it just says "add/edit other authors" as if there were no other authors assigned to that book. BUT this is happening with books I know for sure have other authors, and they have shown up on the past.
If I click "add/edit other authors" I get the usual popup, with the confirmed other authors like it's supposed to be. If I change things (or not) and click "close", sometimes the other authors show in the "Other Authors" section like they're supposed to (but sometimes not). If I refresh the page they disappear again.

I noticed this too, but figured it was an intentional change. If the work is not in my catalog I see the other authors grid open on the work page. If the work is in my catalog I have to click the add/edit other authors link to see the grid.

on a related note, my edition of Fables Super Team shows Joao Ruas as an illustrator under the main title, right alongside Bill Willingham, the author. i've double, triple checked the "other authors" box and he's listed as a secondary author, as he should be as the cover artist, while Mark Buckingham is listed as a primary author, as he should be, as the main illustrator/collaborator on the book. Buckingham should be listed under the main title but isn't, and Ruas is but shouldn't be. can't figure out why this is wrong.

>4 leahbird: - Right, that's the issue with the difference between "work" and "book" data. It shows up that way because you have the book (see the discussion at http://www.librarything.com/topic/127912, which is partly about this issue). It's another one I hope we'll be able to solve before too much longer.

Currently, when looking at a work page for any book in your own catalog or at a book-specific work page from another member's catalog (like the my edition link you created above) you will see all of the catalog-entered other authors along with the primary author in one block at the top of the page. The work level other authors and main/secondary assignments are ignored.
You can only see the work level other authors when looking at non-book specific work pages for works not in your catalog. Confusing eh? See discussion here and my post here.
I'm switching the bug to reopened as your complaint is a different issue from the original message and my guess in #3 may not be correct.

I don't know if this is related, but I don't see any author at the top of this page: http://www.librarything.com/work/11884458 even though all of the editions have the same author and the book shows up on the author page and I set the primary author and I recalculated the title/author.

>7 norabelle414: - Hmm, nope, that's just because the author doesn't have a name:

Yeah all better, thanks.

I don't understand. I know if we have the book the top of the page looks different, but shouldn't the "other authors" section work the same whether we have the book or not? If having the book is affecting more than just the top part of the work page, that sounds like a bug to me.
ETA - Oh, I see, the posts around #4 confused me. So the original bug report still stands; #4 is a different issue, and #7 is another different issue.

Oh, I think it's a bug (if it's intentional, it's weird). It's on my list to talk about with Tim.
ETA - to your ETA - right :-)

For what it's worth, the bug is still there a month later.

...and another month.
Not a big error, but having spent all that time producing a great new feature one would think it would be worth it to spend a little more to quash that little bug which is making the results of your travails invisible, Tim?

Fixed. The bug was happening exclusively when you yourself had the book.
I'm somewhat worried that the fix has unanticipated downstream effects, so let me know if you see any.

Thanks, Tim!
So far, working like a charm. "Other authors" table now displaying correctly whether I'm logged in or not.
