Witness the following topic:

http://www.librarything.com/topic/130596

At time of writing, it has only the initial message, which has then been deleted by the poster. Yet it shows up in my topics list. Aren't these supposed to be suppressed? Or does that only apply to single-message threads where the first message is flagged to the point of suppression?

I think it's only where the first message is flag-suppressed.

I've seen other "deleted by the poster" single message threads.

Perhaps this should be a "recommended site improvement"!

I'd support that RSI!

Not a bug, and I'm not sure it should be an RSI. I can think of circumstances it shouldn't be removed.

Fine by me. I just wasn't sure if it was something that was supposed to be happening and failed, or if it was different than the flagging case. I can accept "different."

Today I submitted a topic at the wrong group. /topic/134990, It was intended to be posted at the main "Translation"" group. Then I deleted the message.
From another discussion about allowing and indicating changes in topic titles (/topic/134575#3315722): "Yet the same bad reasons exist for not changing Talk posts yet Tim lets us do that. Perhaps he should let us edit Talk subjects at any time but put an "edited" next to it if you do."
So the RSI should include mark topics with all deleted messages so this could be visible directly from "/talk" and any filter as in the "/groups/foobar" page section "Topics".
