I'm 17 today! Yay! One more year before I can VOTE! 4 years before I can consume alcohol. 18 years until I can run for president. Just kidding on the last one...I don't think I'd make a good president. I'd probably sit in the oval office reading all day. I think I'd be good at debating though :) I love a good argument.
So, I was looking on profiles today and they don't have anything that says when your birthday is. So post it here and we can make sure we give you many virtual presents...you wouldn't want to miss that, would you?

Happy Birthday!!! (If you lived in Canada, you'd only have 2 more years until you can consume alcohol...well ....1 if you live in Quebec!)

Thanks everyone! And I LOVE the cake! I couldn't eat it either though...just too pretty! Is the dragon all icing? My friends would love that. They usually just eat their icing and leave the cake.

Belated happy birthday :-)

I had mine March 26th, I'm sure there's some leftover cake in some thread somewhere but I guess it has mumified by now so any fresh cake is welcome ;-)

Happy B-day! My younger son is 17 too. He doesn't read though. Where did I go wrong??????

March 6, BTW.

Groo - It'll be nice to have someone else in the "46" club with me!

hobbitprincess/groo - 46 here until December 27.

My sons didn't like to read in high school. After graduation from high school, my oldest started reading again. It's so nice to be able to discuss books with my child!

Happy Birthday!

As a person who makes cakes, that is marvelous! My daughter wants one for her next (20th) birthday. I told her to forget it. My next b-day is Jan. 17, 45. So much younger than those other 40 somethings. :)

Happy Birthday Darragh, a bit late.

I hit 40 on July 10th this year and although I keep telling myself it's just another birthday...

#20 > I'm younger still - 41 last time I checked - so don't go insane over being "youngest over 40", hehe ;-)

#21 > It IS just another birthday. I thought turning 20 and 30, respectively, was much MUCH worse!

Thanks Busifer,

actually I'm in three minds about it. About a third of the time it's just another birthday, a third is OMG I'm going to be 40, yippee and a third OMG I'm going to be 40, bleurghh, which is altogether fairly healthy I guess.

What I'm most dreading is the birthday present question? I was going to ask for a nice watch but the one that I have tells the time OK, now I can guess that I might ask for a new camera but if anyone has any good book suggestions? But don't look at my library as it's very incomplete, most of it is what is sitting on the shelf here in my office.

I'd also thought of trying to organise a charitable project but I'm having trouble trying to find an internationally minded giving site. I live in the euro zone but most of my family/friends are in the UK and I really don't want peoples money lost in currency transfers so I need a site where people can donate in local currencies - any ideas?

Happy Birthday!
17 seems so long ago when I think of all that has happened during that time. Yet, it seems like yesterday at times.
My daughter turned 15 in March. I turned 33 on Feb 22.

I'm 46 as well. I guess there are quite a few of us. When I was in high school, my best friend & I had each skipped a grade and were younger than our friends. As Cindy & I used to say, '61-ers rule!

Thanks again everyone!
#23-There's plenty of cake left! Just try to leave the dragon intact ;)
I had a great day. It was very nice and relaxing. I got two new books: Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult and The Stand by Stephen King. Right now I'm reading the Jodi Picoult one and it's pretty good, although very depressing. I'm eager to start The Stand but I'm a little worried by its rather large size.
