Ok, my final number for January is 9. I added my last one to both tickers.

So far I've stuck to the shelves, I haven't bought a new book or been to the library since mid December! My wishlist however continues to grow (and grow, and grow, and grow)...

Oh well done, mrsrochester! Not buying anything new for a whole month is a rare achievement!

I'm afraid I didn't manage that but I have started the year with great enthusiasm (if that counts for anything).

I lied! One more for me on leap day: Total for end of February: 9/50. I've updated both tickers.

I managed to read 9 BOMBS candidates during January, so I've got a good start towards my target of sixty. Admittedly, only three of the nine had been on my shelf for more than a year, and a couple were bought on New Year's Eve, but it's all permissible within my rules...
Two new books were bought in January, and a further (old) new book is on order.

I've updated the global ticker.

OK, I've finished one more. Tickers are updated.

I finished book #5 toward my goal of 25: Great Expectations, in honor of Charles Dickens' 200th birthday. Unbelievable that I had never read it, and that it has been on my shelf for many, many years. I have updated the tickers.

I can't even get away from this challenge in my sleep :-) I had this dream last night that I was at a train station which had a huge bookstore and I went in just to pass the time and of course found a book I had to have.

Just make sure you go past the calendar section of the bookshop in your dream and back-date the purchase a year or two, then it will count for the challenge!

Book #6 toward my goal of 25: Bread Givers by Anzia Yezierska. A novel about Jewish life on the NY's Lower East Side at the beginning of the 20th c, and focuses on how women & especially daughters were treated. Loosely based on the author's experiences. Been on my shelf since last summer. I've updated the tickers.

Finished my first one for February. I hope I can keep this up...

I'm saving mine for the end of the month again but I know my results won't be nearly as dramatic as January's were. I'm concentrating on study right now and those are virtualy all new books.

Yeah, I managed to read my fourth BOMBS! And started my fifth! So I am well ahead of scedule.

My pace has slowed down considerably this month. I stand at 18 books off the shelf but only 6 of those were this month, so far.

My reading level is down for the month and I've had library books.

I will be reporting my monthly progress next week, but like Linda, I've had quite a few library books this month.

We all try to encourage each other and that is great at keeping our motivation in place and our goals in sight! At the end of each month we recap and then if we're a bit behind we re-energize each other to get back on track.

Finished Book #7 Bold Spirit by Linda Lawrence Hunt--a fascinating book about a woman & her daughter who walked across America in 1896. This book has been on my bookshelf since August 2011. I won't be finishing any more this month.

Well thats another 2 bombs making a total of 3 for February. I am reasonably pleased with that as 7 out of the 8 books read this year are off my shelf.

I'm a bad girl too - only 3 off the shelves this month. Have updated both tickers. (That's a total of 16 this year which sounds much better and is still easily on target. My TBR list now stands at 368; if I end the year with any fewer than that I'll be a happy bunny.)

OK, one last one finished off the shelf tonight, for a total of 5 for the month of February, and a total of 12 for the year (toward a goal of 53).

Of course, I added more to the shelf than I read from it -- but, hey, most of them were gifts. And I'm almost even for the year.
